Coronavirus Update: Downslide shortlived

Down sliding of new COVID-19 cases in Sindh proved shortlived as the authorities confirmed detection of 291 more infections on October 4, with one more related fatality compared to 267 cases of October 3.
The new case reporting was 361 on October 1, which decreased to 316 on October 2 and 267 on October 3. In all 10,813 samples were tested during the 24 hours ending October 4 morning, with a positivity rate of 2.69%. 

The solitary COVID death of Sindh occurred in Hyderabad, which in all had 5119 infections and 77 fatalities, taking the tally of deaths to 2,521 for the province on October 4. 

The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, in his routine statement on COVID-19 status, disclosed that there were still 4,790 coronavirus infected people in the province, out of which 274 were hospitalized, including 159 those in critical condition and 35 on ventilators. In addition 4,509 patients were in home-isolation, while seven were in the isolation centres. 

The breakdown of cases remained as following: Karachi (219), Hyderabad (8), Sukkur (6), Shaheed Benazirabad (4), Sujawal (4), Sanghar (3), Larkana (2), Mirpurkhas (2), Tando Allahyar (2), Jacobabad (1), Umerkot (1), Kambar Shahdadkot (1), Kashmore (1), Khairpur (1), Naushero Feroze (1) and others.
