Hospitals across Sindh did not have any stable COVID-19 patients on August 9 when authorities declared that only 370 critically ill patients existed there, while 303 new infections were registered during the last 24 hours.
The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah. in his daily COVID-19 statement on August 9, said that there were 5,836 active patients in the province, including 5,460 at homes.
As many as 370 patients were in hospitals and all of them were in critical condition, he added.
He further said that the overall number of patients who recovered from the disease had reached to 115,741 (93%) for the province, against the national rate of 92%.
According to an official report, as many as 16,457 patients were at homes or other isolation centres across the country on August 8, against 543 patients in stable condition, receiving treatment at hospitals, with other 638 on oxygen and 153 on ventilators.
Meanwhile, Sindh added 10 more COVID-19 fatalities to the overall country’s daily fatality tally of 15 during the last 24 hours ending on August 9 afternoon, pushing the Sindh fatality figures to 2,272.
Karachi’s daily new infection number reduced significantly as it reported only 103 of the total 303 new infections in Sindh, while Hyderabad registered 23 new cases, followed by Khairpur (22), Sukkur (17), Dadu (14), Umerkot (14), Badin (13), Jamshoro (12), Sanghar (12), Shikarpur (11), Tando Mohammad khan (9), Ghotki (8), Naushero Feroze (8), Larkana (6), Shaheed Benazirabad (6), Mirpurkhas (4), Tando Allahyar (3) and Thatta (2).
Sindh has so far tested 123,849 cases as COVID-19 positive, out of 826,258 samples.
