China, Pakistan to deepen cooperation to curb COVID-19

China and Pakistan held first ever webinar on Joint Response and Cooperation Mechanism on COVID-19 July 1.

It was hosted by senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and attended by relevant ministries, the Chinese embassy informed PNFS, describing it as a proper manner to address issues of interest to both sides under this particular situation. 

The Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson in Beijing added that Pakistan and China have set up a joint prevention mechanism on COVID-19 to strengthen coordination and exchanges between the two countries as well as to promote cooperation in the fight against coronavirus, 

While addressing a media briefing in Beijing, spokesperson Zhao Lijian said that the first virtual meeting of the joint prevention controlled mechanism was held in this regard where representatives from various departments of foreign affairs, public health, education from both sides participated. 

The Chinese official said that the mechanism is aimed at strengthening coordination and exchanges between the two countries while maintaining an ongoing response in the long fight against the virus.
