4,500 appear in SSUET entrance test

Around 4500 candidates appeared in the entry test seeking admission in the engineering disciplines of Computer, Electronics, Civil, Bio-Medical and Telecom besides Computer Science, held at the Karachi Expo Center on November 24, under strict security arrangements and under supervision of some 400 invigilators.

This year the ratio of female admission seekers appearing in the test in was higher than the previous academic year 2013. 

The test started on time at 10 am for which exhaustive arrangements had been made at specious Expo Center Halls. Besides the four provinces, a large number of candidates came from Gilgit, Biltistan and Azad Kashmir to appear in the test. 

Earlier, Chancellor SSUET, Eng Mohammed Adil Usman, alongwith Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Hawaid Hasan Rizvi, and Registrar, Syed Abrar Ali, visited the test centre and had an appraisal of arrangements made. 

Talking to journalists on the occasion, he said that the Sir Syed University was engaged in preparing and producing future professionals in various fields of engineering. The university has established itself as an internationally recognized institution because of the academic excellence achieved. 

“With career-focused education, SSUET enjoys the pride for having the best and qualified faculty which is committed to the highest international standards,” he remarked. 

Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Syed Jawaid Hassan Rizvi, said on the occasion that keeping the new emerging trends in view, the university is introducing 3 new programs of software engineering, Architecture and Bioinformatics this year, to meet the growing market demands. 

Meanwhile, test results will be announced by mid December and the candidates have been advised to check it on the SSUET Notice Board or access the university’s website www.ssuet.edu.pk where they will also be posted.
