One of the most respected senior librarians of the country, Khurshid Alam, while hailing the various initiatives of the National Library Association (NLA), has assured them support from the side of former library professionals.

“As a veteran librarian myself, it gladdens my heart immensely whenever I come to know about the efforts being made for the cause of the profession. Yes I have learnt about the sustained attempts being made by the NLA leadership which augurs well for the future of the librarianship,” he remarked during his meeting with the NLA Advisor, Syed Khalid Mahmood, in Karachi on July 28.

Khurshid Alam, who has had an illustrious career as a librarian during which he served marquee institutions like the British Council, the University of Karachi and the Ziauddin University, has now been living in Canada’s city of Milton. He has flown back to Canada on July 29.

“I wish the NLA the very best of luck in their future endeavours. I am very happy to find their office-bearers displaying so much energy and enthusiasm in carrying out projects after projects on a regular basis which is really a commendable job,” he reckoned.
