The Pakistan Navy Central Library (PNCL), one of the leading public libraries of Karachi, celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day 2015 with great fervour and enthusiasm.
Cdre Dr Ihsan Qadir (CTA) was the chief guest in the ceremony, organized to celebrate the Independence Day, which was also attended by Capt. (R) M Ayaz (DGPMM), Cdr (R) M. Y. Siddiqui, Cdr (R) Syed Zakir Ali and Cdr (R) Shafique, OIC History Cell, besides other officers, members and staff of the library.
Huma Mannan Butt, Chief Librarian, PNCL, and Afshan Khan, Research Librarian, welcomed the dignitaries and guests.
The PNCL served refreshments and distributed gifts of pens, badges and bands to all the guests, staff, members and visitors present on the occasion. Certificate of the performance of the year was awarded to Sajjid Hussain, Library Assistant.
The library was tastefully decorated with balloons, flags, buntings and posters. It was hailed as a wonderful effort and the organizers were commended for having celebrated the Independence Day in such an impressive manner.
