Mir Shahjahan Khetran, Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) called on Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf in Islamabad on July 24 to discuss promotion of tourism in the country, especially along the coastal highway in Balochistan.

During the meeting MD PTDC appraised the Prime Minister about the issues related to the Corporation and their possible remedies.

The Prime Minister desired that the PTDC should continue its efforts for promotion of tourism in the country especially in areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, having greater attraction for the tourists, so that better employment opportunities can be created under the policy of the government.

He urged the PTDC to mobilize all its resources to promote tourism in the country, having been blessed with so many outstanding features that remain significant.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the MD PTDC in promoting domestic and international tourism in Pakistan.

Upon the request of MD PTDC the Prime Minister promptly issued the directives to the concerned quarters to urgently release the necessary funds to enable the Corporation to continue working without monetary constraints.
