Dr Rafat Parveen notified as DLIS chairperson at KU

Dr Rafat Parveen Siddiqui has been appointed as Chairperson of Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Karachi with immediate effect. The notification in this regard was issued by the university registrar on June 8. 

Previously working as Associate Professor at DLIS, she brings to table three decades of experience in librarianship, research and teaching at university level. She has had a distinguished academic record, having three gold medals in her academic career. She had received her Ph.D in 2017 from the University of Karachi. 

She had debuted as an author with ‘Pakistan Kay Urdu Hawalajati Makhuzat’ in 2021. She has also written two dozen research articles having been published in various national and international journals of repute. 

More of an introvert in nature, she remains passionate about her work and she is firmly committed to motivate the students in developing their skills and potential for achieving better results. She has assisted numerous budding scholars while serving as Students Advisor for more than 15 years.
